Night Photography Class (Aspect Images)
Aspect Images Mackay held a Night Photography Course last night (8/2/2011). This course was attended by quite a number of people who enjoyed themselves. Adrian from Aspect and myself took these budding photographers through a short theory session to show how to guage the exposure required as some cameras cant cope with low light situations very well. Once everyone was up to speed we then went on to do “Traffic Trails”. During this time a Fire Twirler arrived to practice at our location. A quick recruiting job later and the class was treated to a 5 minutes fire twirling exibition, I’d like to say that this was planned but it wasn’t but I’m sure was welcomed by everyone in class. We then went on to drawing with a light source and using sparlers to write messages. Towards the end of class I broke out the Canon 580 EX II flash and demonstrated the strobe light mode this flash has and with some encouragement from the crowd pulled some silly faces to produce the image you see on the above. After some other ideas and methods thrown in to the mix the class came to an end. My thanks goes out to the people who attended the class last night, the Fire Twirler with a great sense of timing and finally to Adrian, without whom the class would not have happened. I had a great time and I’m sure everyone else did as well. Next class is the Portrait and Lighting Workshop on the 26th Feb hosted by yours truly for Aspect Images Mackay. For those of you attending this class I will be there in Body and “Spirit”. See you there.
